QR Codes are gaining popularity here in the States. Overseas they have been hugely used for years in marketing. I’ve held off talking about them because many consumers still dont have QR Readers on their phones, let alone know what they do. With the smartphone boom consumers are starting to get more savvy in the US. With the advent the iPad revolutionizing reading and viewing the internet and the iPad 2’s camera capability I see QR codes starting to really boom here.
Simplified QR codes are coded squares that can be used to link to just about anything you want on the Internet. There are many uses of QR codes for marketing and probably much more room to creatively market with. I noticed even some Twitter accounts using them as their Avatar.

My friend Robert uses QR Codes on his business card for Real Estate and has even said they sold a house using QR Codes on the listing sign.
The internet is full of creative uses, one being in this video showing a building covered in QR Codes that shows what people inside of it are Tweeting.

Hi Chris, these are some cool ways to take advantage of QR codes, thanks!
Hello,
we believe that QR codes will make the connection between offline and online worlds easier. That’s why we created our QR code generator with social features – YouScan.me – http://www.youscan.me. You can add all your info like Facebook profile or fan page, twitter, youtube, etc. and connect with others.
Cheers
Great article. BTW, I’m founder of iNdevour and we made our own app called Winq (http://bit.ly/lcjzA5) to create and share QR-codes. We’re promoting QR-codes as the best method to exchange contact details.

QR codes can help you promote your business. You can code any information you want including contact info, your business locations, email addresses, YouTube videos and so on. I implement this cool feature in my apps using snappii technology. They are really helpful if you need a mobile app but don’t have programming skills at all.
QR code is a great invention people made. I’m making mobile apps currently and find it really cool to implement QR codes into them. I’m amazed at QR code coupons Snappii app builder allows to create. They are really helpful for small businesses.
