My 15+ year old dog is slowly dying of cancer. Anal Sac Tumor etc. I setup a home camera to monitor and record her movements. I’ve caught my 2 year old dog on it several times now, lying in her bed just watching over her. Technically, my older dog used to get angry and not allow her in the bed. This was touching. They are just “sisters” my house but the 2 year old will lose the one dog who helped mother her.
