You don’t have to drive a car over Kingston SSDs to cause them to fail. I bought 5 Kingston SSDs and put them in routers, which use the drives lightly. One by one, they all began to quit, because Kingston’s engineering was faulty. Kingston has admitted to a problem which causes some of the drives to crash, often unecoverably, after a little more than 4 months of being powered up continuously. When this happens, the system usually dies and your data is often gone for good. Kingston knew about this bug and did not attempt to do a recall. Do not recommend these drives! Do not buy them! We have lost countless hours and thousands of dollars as a result of having trusted Kingston to produce a reliable product.
Hi Brett. When and what are the details of this? I have to say I have a number of Kingston Drives that power our office computers with HEAVY 24/7 usage. They are usually on forever until a microsoft update restarts them. I’m surprised. I’ve never had a lick of problems and I have piles of their Micro SD cards, USB drives, I use Kingston almost exclusively – not one problem.
