Hi Chris: I thought this was an interesting topic. I have had a number of people contact me directly when I failed to thank them, RT them or give them a shout out. I usually respond by saying all they had to do was reach out and tall with me. You hit the nail on the head regarding communication. Like you, if some reaches out and wants to chat, I engage them. If they want to speak further they can skype, email or pick up the phone…it's that simple. One of the downsides to social media and all these new technologies is people seem to lack basic communication skills.
Once again, Chris, you're right on the money! To me it all goes back to the Golden Rule, whether you're Christian or not, Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You. I know it's cliche, but it's true. And if anyone doubts your sincerity, I can attest that you are a man of your word and you will respond and engage with your followers, and there's nothing anti-social about Chris Voss!
I believe “communicating” is a two-way street–no matter how narrow the street. If someone gets the impression you're not “communicating”, well then there's not much you can do about it, except maybe listen.
Great post Chris. It's not just twitter, sadly too many people do not know how to communicate in person either. I respect your philosophy in responding to people who really want to have a discussion.
Hi Chris,I really enjoyed your post. The best way to open a conversation with someone you don’t know is to find a common interest. We are all complex as humans. Find something you both are interested in and talk about that. Laugh together find information together and before you know it you are friends. http://mediamagnet.net
I look forward to more of your humor Chris! Great delivery!
