Dont Just Get A Job – Build Multiple Revenue Streams

Extremely good advice, Chris! Multiple Revenue Streams are indeed what can sustain a good life’s income, or a healthy balance of dependability on one’s own self, in today’s world and maybe in the future also.

You did a good job in pointing out how our parents and others in the society, who are always ready to give advice thinking they know better, always tell us that having a 9-5pm steady job, whether at the post office or at Ford, is what makes life happy. Every kid that is growing up is doing the same thing: “I want to be a mechanic when I grow up!” or “I want to be an Engineer when I grow up!” These mantras are supported and infused into the minds of almost everyone growing up so much, that people simply think in order to be successful, you need one single steady job where you live by getting money for being told what to do daily. I’ve yet to hear any kid or anyone else say “I want to grow up and have several companies that make money!” or “I want to work towards having more than one online property that makes me money for both the long & the short term.”

This year is the first one where I have multiple revenue streams coming in from at least 4 sources, and I am finally picking up the breadcrumbs to see which path to follow. And yes, there will always be time to plays games and everything else. I’m glad I didn’t plays left 4 dead 2 about 20 minutes ago and decided to watch this video.

Really enjoyed this video Chris!
Instead of telling our kids to think “outside the box” how about we eliminate “the box” altogether. If there were no box, wouldn’t it open up a whole new world for those that put themselves inside the box in the first place.

I’m a product of the 60′s and was taught that I should always have something to fall back on and I think many people were raised the same way. As a parent to two young boys I will certainly encourage them to follow in my path of creating residual income from many streams.
But of course I can only encourage my boys in whatever they choose to do and hope that some of my entrepreneurial talents rub off on them and they choose not to be yes men for some employer that doesn’t give two hoots about them.

Isn’t this the shift from Baby Boom Corporate Hierarchies of business to the Millennials’ disintermediated model. Flat organisations, elimination of non value added middlemen, flexibility!

Gen X broke up the job for life model and now web 2.0 makes your multiple revenue stream model possible.

Why not Network Marketing? If you have the right product and the right pay plan I would recommend it. But it has to be the right one. Monthly PV companies I wouldn’t recommend. I review companies. There good one’s out there that won’t suck the bank dry.

Excellent advice….the generation behind us was able to do that, and companies and workers had loyalty to each other. Now, there’s no loyalty from either side. All companies want to do is cut costs, so they go to overseas, or south, to outsource their business. Big mistake in the long run because we Americans don’t like that. You have to make your own career..

I have to admit to buying into the wisdom that Chris is putting out on this episode. Since a plant closure three years ago, I have had a series of contracts, and am now working full time, however the sting of losing my one and only source of income has remained with me.

Meeting up with a mentor who is an entrepreneur, I have been forging alliances and developing multiple methods of income. I think that Chris said it best when he said “When you are in business for yourself, the only person that can fire you is you…”.

Great advice, Chris, and I must say that I am taking this path myself. I look forward to more episodes!

I think the hardest part is that there are only 2-3 network marketing companies out there with a track record and that are good investments of your time. The up side is a year or two invested in promoting a great company will really teach someone that is just coming out of the gates how to network, talk to people, sell and manage their time.
But I 100% agree with the concept of having multiple revenue streams and continually building them.
