I blogged about this months ago with my previous employer who somehow lacked the knowledge that my lawyer had to tell their corporate lawyers the definition of defamation and libel.
You can be sued, fired, etc…
Perhaps I need to make a brush up… will reference your video. đ

Most legal experts state that whatever is posted on Facebook, Twitter or personal blogs is a matter of “opinion” and, thus, becomes legally-protected speech. On what grounds/laws do corporate lawyers base their trials?
Response from Chris Voss: Thanks for the comment , but my point is they DONT have to have grounds to cost you money defending themselves. Ive owned many companies over 20 years and seen the most silliest aggravation suits brought against us, that we still have to pay to defend and that is my point. Some people will sue over anything ultimately costing you money and an appearance in court. Some may get thrown out but you’ll still be paying your Attorney and wasting time showing up in court.

Chris is absolutely correct!
That’s why companies will have employees sign an exit letter on the way out the door. That’s after they overpay the vacation owed by a week, add on extra wages, a just-because bonus and 4 tickets to the next Raiders game. That closes the exit interview as planned…these campers happily sign on that dotted line – the lawsuit threat has been quarantined.
People can sue for anything if they find a hungry lawyer – and they will. Would you sue the manufacturer of a red liquid engine degreaser because you decided to clean your white leather seats in your Rolls Royce and they turned pink? Oh, yes he did!
Another one was a wife who sues for lost time with her husband because the acid based wheel cleaner he spilled on his foot soaked his sock and ate his foot down to the bone. He changed his shoes but not his socks and ended up in the hospital. Investigators found out they were separated months before this happened – so much for pain and suffering.
Attorneys on Retainer? You better believe it!! Especially if you’re going to speak your mind like I do – but it’s always facts and figures proven to be true…..still not a good idea. THANKS for that much-needed lesson in the shocking truth behind some law suits.
I have a few questions – HOW do you warn others about what you know to be TRUE? What then? Just let the chips fall where they may and chalk it up to lessons for the unwitting to learn. Let history keep repeating itself since the young don’t listen anyway?
What about protecting the elderly – my favorite group – the white-hair covers a head full of knowledge and wisdom – but no internet experience. What about all the “great” grandparents out there?

I actually wrote a similar article about this regarding defamation using Facebook status comments. Thanks for posting this, it really shows that social media has to be used responsibly to reap its benefits.
Let me share my article that’s similar to this:

Great Post Chris. Great Quality. Definitely sharing. It's crazy that people just don't realize that the internet is world wide… um… Duh! How you gonna hide behind the cpu when your address, phone number, basically everything can be found. These people are crazy.

Wonder how long before someone sues over the the title of this blogâŚnamely the âdeadâ partâŚbetcha some money-grubbin overly-litiguous citizen will sue claiming using the word dead in that context causes me to fear for my life and thus is a terroristic threatâ -_- i swear in todays society you can be sued for basically anything and everything other than going to live in a cave somewhere, but chances are theyâd find someway to sue u for that too. -_-
GOOD ADVICE !!
Great news. How do I sign up?? there is a person in my sphere who has hurt several people in blogging add stalker to the list.
