Well, Chris, I’m happy to say that it only took me 6 months to click and listen. You have a lot of great information. I never care that someone tells me they have a lot of years in a certain industry because sometimes they didn’t really learn anything over the years. What you just said about marketing and consistency is so relevant. I’ve only been on the directing end of marketing for about 5 years (previously I was an exec. asst. for about 20 years in marketing departments). I remember how my knees would knock if I had to make a presentation about social media and marketing to someone who I thought this marketing stuff would be old news only to find that they acted like they were clueless about putting out a conisitent message in many ways. And I’m shocked too by some so-called experienced marketers who still use methods that are just wrong. Like today someone from a PR firm sent me an event announcement in a word document attached in email with a bunch of other people’s emails on it. What the flip?
But being consistent is the most important thing. I mean your creative ideas about how to do that will change but the message has to keep going out or else your business will become irrevelant. I think about this when I see a movie star or singer who was popular once after a long period of time. My first reaction is almost certainly to say “I thought she was dead”. Ok, not very polite but when you don’t see someone you wonder. LOL!
