On Tuesday, September 18, five teams present their final mobile app products to a panel of judges with the winner walking away $20,000 richer. The event is part of AT&T’s national campaign to save lives by discouraging texting while driving.

7PM – Finalists present their polished applications to judging panel

Finalist apps:
DrivePledge – the best designed of several apps that creates an incentives program around not texting while driving – check into your car, earn points for driving without checking your phone, redeem points for rewards
Rode Dog – the app senses when the phone is in the car and barks at you until you turn it off while you’re driving. Team lead by an 11 year old girl
Safe Car Key – app with a hardware component that phone must be placed in while driving. Removing the phone causes the engine to shut down
Text Waiter – gamifies not texting while driving by giving increasing rewards for every text you ignore while on the road
SMS Hog – allows you to shame your friends by taking a picture of them texting while driving, modifying it with a hog and sharing it to social media
