   Nice post Chris. The conversation about the architect is especially interesting. It's tough for people who make a very good living but want to transition to a field that (traditionally) has been associated with financial difficulty like photography and various arts. I do think it is worth the risk to really go after your dreams and passions, and despite it's challenges, that passion might drive the person into greater success than they had in their “more lucrative” career.

   Great post & advice I give to people that ask me how to get started. My first store, Sensual Elegance, started because I and a friend were newly single and in need of plus size sexy clothing to boost our confidence and try to get back into dating. Ended up finding a wholesale company and my friend talked me into setting up a business and online store. Ten sites later, they are offshoots of the first one in related areas or other aspects of me that I love like Egyptian history, science fiction, cosplay, spirituality, gothic/Victoriana, etc. I LOVE finding new items for the stores, talking to artists and designers, and finding things my customers have been looking for and unable to find. Matching your business to your interests is definitely the way to go for a long-term venture.
