I recently posted about Facebook and its kick butt of Google over Christmas. Heres a great graph from the Silicon Valley Insider that smartly shows how far out ahead Facebook is in page views above the rest. I was pretty amazed. Your business marketing shouldn’t just be on one Channel of Social Media – it needs to be on many. What do you think?

Thanks for sharing this graph on social networking stats. I agree 100%, it's important to diversify your marketing efforts and appeal to your target market in a number of places, but not overstreach yourself. It's good to stick to a few main channels, develop a voice, and continue on with more.

I couldn't agree more, Chris. A business may have a primary social media outlet but there needs to be a presence in many social media channels so, at the very least, one can point a reader to one's primary channel on another social media outlet.

Well put, thankfully there are some great tools out there that can help you increase your presence without killing your productivity.
I don’t see blogger, tumblr, and wordpress on the graph…
Chris – I fully agree that a multi-channel approach is mandatory in a social media marketing plan for business. I have been wondering about some of the comparisons between FB and Google, and the inferences made from the data. To me, it makes perfect sense that FB would see a huge amount of traffic while a large portion of people had extra free time over the holidays. This “cyclicality” calls for some qualification to the statistics as they are reported to ensure meaningful information for the audience (me included).
