This was fun to see a 340 ton Granite rock being slowly transported through LA at 8 mph. Its also a great way for the LA County Museum to get a ton of buzz and media to call attention to their museum. Read more about it on the link below. I dont know if they planned it to be so brilliant but many people are being exposed to the museum with this project.
I’ve been watching the progress on TV. I’m waiting until the Rock gets closer to the museum and then I’ll go see it. Can you imagine how many people will be going to LACMA for the first time because they saw this Rock in person or on TV? I think it’s brilliant, whether LACMA realized or or not that they were going to get so much buzz about this.
