Hi Chris – I would prefer being able to comment on my retweets sometimes, but I like being able to RT by clicking two buttons as an option. And it also looks like you can unfollow someone’s retweets rather than unfollowing the person completely, which I guess is a good compromise.

Hate the new button! I am not using it, neither is anyone who retweets me thankfully.
I like to add comments before or after the RT. The button is useless. At least we can still Repl and add our own RT – this enables us to partially retweet also which is often done.
Bad idea twitter and a waste of time/money in my opinion.

Thanks for the great post Chris! I’m not a fan of the new button–for the same reason as other critics have mentioned: I cannot edit the text! I like to add a comment or a reason for the RT and this completely kills that! It’s amazing that Twitter is JUST now coming out with a RT feature at all, as most of use third party software, as you mentioned.

Appreciate the information. Not a big fan of the new RT button. It choose for you instead of the other way around.

I haven’t used the button, but I’ve noticed that when there’s somebody that I want to RT on the web interface (on the web is the only place I can check my followers and lists easily, since I’m using Yoono in my Firefox browser), some tweets DON’T have the new RT button you’re talking about. In fact, they don’t have the OLD RT option either, so the only way to RT something is to copy and paste, edit as desired, etc.
I suppose that means that when it’s out of beta, a lot of us will have to copy and paste if we want to add comments too.
Pretty annoying so far… but if there were two options on each tweet, I think that would be a good compromise (RT as is with the new button, RT and edit with the old — even if they had to use different terminology).

Thanks for the information. I am on the RT Beta and like it, but wish we could edit our RT and could send to a list or more than one list. I didn’t think of this when I did my initial feedback to Twitter. Going to try and do another FB though. Thanks again! I enjoy your Tweets too.

I like to add comments before or after also. I check my site daily for content language and who is following me. Britney is not allowed. They should leave well enough alone. Get rid of the Spam intead.
