UPDATE: I honestly have been checking the new updates on The Daily for the last 7 days. I’ve actually found it very appealing and I am considering paying the weekly fee to see if I stick with it. Also enable the Daily Anchor Launch at Start-up. (Update 2: Paying for it.)
I got a chance to review The Daily, the new iPad app with daily news designed for the iPad. I like it so far, its free for the 1st 2 weeks and subscription thereafter. Its not as complex or heavy as Virgins magazine: Project. The only downside of it I saw was you had to tilt/turn your iPad to get more on articles. This is an annoyance for me because I keep mine locked in landscape at all times. All in all its a good effort, some of the picture were blurry?? The KEY think I didnt like about it, is that 90% of the articles didnt interest me. It was VERY unpersonalized. It was a lot of data, but other than the sports section and top news it seemed jumbled. The “check in daily for updates” maybe is a good way to teach people to use the iPad like a newspaper daily. We’ll see how it develops. Let me know what you think in the comments below…
