Chris I think you nailed it. I have to add that the constant annoyance also makes some people unfollow and or block the offending user. I appreciate your efforts on others behalf. It's refreshing to find someone else that pays it forward. Kevin
Being consistent with your communication is a way better method to get noticed. Making it a dialogue instead of a monologue….that will get you noticed.

I agree. I don't have the follower numbers that you do but I've coached people that seem to think it's that simple. “Oh we'll just get a big kahuna on Twitter to retweet us…it'll go VIRAL!”
Loving your show Chris, glad I discovered it.
As a side note, I got so annoyed with that trend that I've stopped checking my DMs.
Chris, thanks for re-tweeting this vlog. I think I see two unique things thru it: 1. It gives people a glimpse into the time cost of having a ton of and following a ton of people. I don't think those who just chase the high follower count realize what it would take to actually have a conversation with all the followers. Because they never think of the “conversation” part of the equation. 2. It really shows how generous you are with your time. I don't know many biz people who would do that. So thumbs up to you.
Chris, Too bad every tweep won't read this, especially the spammers who are constantly DMing with requests, the best, the newest, the blah, blah, blah. Being interactive and responsive will build your following and your lists much, much faster. Thanks for sharing this great post.

REally like this one Chris.. I love to retweet things for my twitter friends. Like you I won't retweet generally from the DM box. It is too time consuming.
Now if youwould like to retweet my website (linked in name) I am building my foreclosure and eviction blog. I am amazed at what is happening across America.
GREAT post today and I will be retweeting it a lot.

#FF I must say I prefer a conversational Tweep to a list of names – tho' I have been guilty of writing lists when I cannot think of anything to say

People are always trying to look for the easy way out which is why our economy is upside down. Hard work is what it takes ppl.
“I have read hundreds of business advice books, but this one stands out. Every chapter has a great life lesson. Great for anyone who wants inspiration and to learn so much from someone who has done an incredible array of experiences.” -Gary Shapiro, President and CEOConsumer Technology Association, producer of CES®
